New Location, new Role

On my first day, I walked into a literally empty store.

No fixtures. No mannequins. Contractors drilling in our wall set up, and trucks full of boxes waiting to be unpacked. I transferred to a new store that was literally brand new.

Our grand opening was planned for Black Friday and the pressure was on to get everything set up on time. Merchandisers from all over the district came to help set up our store and it was the most incredible thing to experience all that creativity working at once with so many people. After a week of working, we opened on Black Friday with a line waiting at midnight for swag bags.

Being a part of the opening of a new story has been so eye opening. VMs from our district were at our store everyday for week setting up. I was able to meet and connect with VMs from our district and they taught me so much about visual principles and customer insights that will be so useful as I begin my career. It has already been so fun to be able to merchandise and Iā€™m am so excited to take on this role at this new location.
