Strategic Management Capstone Project | 2018
Over the course of 15 weeks, my team and I conducted secondary research on a publicly traded a company and develop a programatic recommendation to leverage their greatest strengths.
We gave a presentation consisting of a situational, internal, external, and SWOT analysis, and finally a major programatic recommendation for Shake Shack. To the left are some key slides from the PowerPoint, including a few mockups from our recommendation.
Our presentation consisted of 50 minutes of research and recommendation and 25 minutes of Q & A and was live streamed on YouTube. Here's the link to the video.
My strategic management professor wrote me a letter of recommendation based off my hard work demonstrated throughout the semester.
My spring 2018 strategic management course was the most impactful part of my college academic journey. The process we went through truly felt like a taste of my future career. I have never worked so hard on a project and spent so much time researching and strategizing. The in depth study that my team did of Shake Shack taught me a lot about how to analyze the ins and outs of a company. We looked at everything from their financials to their marketing strategy. Then we took all of our research and created recommendations and alternatives.
This project was also really impactful because I learned how to work with others, as well as learn from them. Each of our concentrations was different and gave us a unique perspective when we discussed different elements of the project, teaching each other new things about our own specialties along the way. The experience of tackling a tough issue in a professional environment taught me a lot about conflict resolution. Overall, I am very proud of our final product and we earned an A on the project. For my individual presentation and Q & A grades I also earned a high A.
