Merchandising Local
With festival season in full swing, many retailers have been catering to their customers’ needs for trendy and retro fashions. I had the great opportunity to assist in merchandising this style at another local Forever 21 and I learned so much from it!
This location had a unique house fixture I had never seen before it was so cool hearing the merchandisers talk about how to set it up. They emphasized that because it’s so see-through, everything must be clean and presentable from all angles. This fixture, like walls, needed lifestyle, commodity, and non-apparel moments to create balance and a good shopping experience.
I also helped set up focal tables for the shop and learned more about the formula for creating a standard table, which includes a good balance of hero outfit pieces, commodity product and accessories.
Merchandising in a new store was an amazing experience. It got me out of my store’s bubble, taught me new principles and introduced me to great people. Talking to others about our company and the industry was so enlightening and fun.
